Moutaz Al -Khayyat is the co-founder and chairman of Urbacon Trading and Contracting (UCC). Moutaz’ philosophy centres leadership that promotes creativity and innovation in the organization but that also develops trust through hard work and attention to detail. Thanks to this approach, UCC became one of the largest construction and trading companies in Qatar, completing several large and complex projects in different regions ranging from heavy construction, infrastructure, industrial facilities, mixed-use development, hospitality and residential.
Moutaz Al-Khayyat is also chairman of Baladna Food Industries QPSC, which went public in December 2019.

Over 35 years of experience in the field of contracting and construction. A member of the Institute of Engineers Australia (MIE Aust) and graduated from Polytechnic of Central London with a Postgraduate certificate in Construction at Brunel University.

Over 26 years of experience in delivering large and high-end construction projects in private sector in both contracting and consultancy companies in the GCC area. He worked in senior management roles and was responsible for the construction of huge construction projects in UAE.

Over 25 years of knowledge and experience in operational and technical management within the heavy-duty lifting equipment and construction machinery in North America and the Middle East. Education and qualifications: Ph.D. in Engineering and Master of Engineering – IMSE-SCM and optimization from the University of Windsor in Canada and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mutah University in Jordan.
